The official presentation of the course will take place on Thursday, May 14, at 11:30 AM at Oviedo City Hall. The event will feature the president of AEMEF, Dr. Juan Carlos González González, along with institutional representatives and collaborators. It will serve to unveil the main scientific program of this commemorative edition.

The conference sessions will be held later on May 28, 29, and 30 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Oviedo, one of the city’s most iconic buildings, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. A broad program of lectures, roundtables, and practical workshops will focus on the major current challenges in football medicine.

One of the main attractions of the course will be the presence of Dr. Lasse Lempainen, a Finnish specialist recognized internationally as a reference in muscle injury surgery. His participation will allow for discussions on the latest advances in treating complex injuries, particularly among elite athletes—an increasingly crucial factor in the performance and recovery of professional footballers.

The course will also feature national and international experts in sports medicine, including representatives from the Portuguese Football Doctors Association. Since its founding in 1996, AEMEF has established this gathering as an essential event for doctors of professional clubs, youth teams, and specialists focused on footballer health.

Beyond its scientific scope, the AEMEF course maintains a strong emphasis on camaraderie and professional exchange. After three decades of history, the sessions have evolved into a forum for sharing experiences, updating knowledge, and strengthening ties among sports medicine professionals.

The choice of Oviedo for this 30th edition also boosts the Asturian capital as a host for relevant scientific and health events. The gathering is supported by Oviedo City Hall, reinforcing the city’s role as a venue for specialized meetings linked to sports, health, and medical innovation.
