The explosive atmosphere in Wuhan reflects the league’s overall popularity. Since the season began, this grassroots competition has ignited a passion for football across the province, while simultaneously serving as a grand celebration of Jing-Chu culture.
In the opening match in Huangshi, Jingzhou fans dressed in “Warring States robes” shouting “The King of Chu goes to war, invincible in battle” went viral. Before matches between Xianning and Suizhou, the teams engaged in a playful “swan goose deliver letter” exchange, highlighting the deep cultural bond between the two cities. Huanggang launched a “score goals, get discounts” promotion at its scenic spots.
Wuhan veteran fan Deng Bin noted that the Chu Super League carries rich regional cultural heritage and pure competitive spirit, welcoming every football enthusiast with an open and inclusive attitude.

Platform data shows that search interest for host cities like Huangshi, Yichang, and Xiangyang has risen 220% month-on-month since the league started. Moreover, a 9.9 RMB match ticket unlocks multiple perks. Before the Wuhan home opener, local authorities announced that all ticket holders could redeem benefits at 23 A-level scenic spots in Wuhan by showing their ticket stubs.
The 2026 Hubei Provincial City Football League covers all 17 cities and prefectures in the province. From April to November, teams will play 146 matches each weekend. Leveraging the league’s popularity, Hubei has launched a “Follow the Matches, Go Travel” initiative, making “watch the game, tour Jing-Chu” a new trend for holiday trips.
