BYD’s newly incubated sub-brand, Linghui Auto, has officially launched its first model, the Linghui e9, a C-class pure electric sedan positioned for family use, ride-hailing operations, fleet vehicles, and business travel. Priced between 150,800 and 169,800 yuan (approximately $21,000 to $23,700), the vehicle was unveiled on May 9, 2026.
The Linghui e9 stands out with its sleek styling and impressive fast-charging capability. The car features a redesigned “Starlight Galaxy” front grille with diamond-shaped chrome accents and dynamic LED lighting that activates upon unlocking, including “Ice Crystal Glow” headlamps. The new “Linghui” badge sits prominently on the hood and grille.
Measuring 4,995 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, the e9 offers generous interior space. The cabin is finished in amber brown leatherette, with a 15.6-inch floating center touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Rear passengers enjoy privacy glass, a multi-function touchscreen for climate control, and a 485-liter trunk. The steering wheel adopts a “Cloud Palace” smart shift-by-wire design to free up storage space in the center console.
For driving assistance, the e9 is equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye C” system, featuring 26 sensors including millimeter-wave radar and cameras, enabling highway navigation assistance and automated parking. The suspension comprises MacPherson struts upfront and a five-link setup at the rear, with FSD variable-damping shock absorbers to balance comfort and handling.
Under the hood, the Linghui e9 uses BYD’s second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology. Two powertrain options are available: a 135 kW motor with a CLTC range of 535 km, and a 150 kW motor with a 605 km range. BYD claims the battery can be charged from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes, with a “5-minute flash charge” providing sufficient range for typical usage.
Three trims are offered: the 535 Luxury Edition at 150,800 yuan, the 605 Flash Charge Luxury at 159,800 yuan, and the 605 Flash Charge Flagship at 169,800 yuan. The car is available in two colors: Cloud Smoke Gray and Inky Black.
With a starting price just above 150,000 yuan, the Linghui e9 offers a spacious C-class sedan with fast charging capabilities comparable to refueling a gasoline car, making it an attractive option for commercial operators and families alike.
