Gian Piero Gasperini, head coach of Roma, shared his thoughts on the team’s future during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

“The presence of Corbin Friedkin is certainly a sign that the board has started to move, not only thinking about the end of the season but also keeping an eye on the future,” said the Roma manager, referring to the attendance of Dan Friedkin’s younger son in Rome.

“Right now, there are two paths: one is this season, which is still alive; the other is the next campaign,” he added. “Tomorrow night (Monday) we have a very important match. We are fully focused on this game because, with four rounds left, we are still in the fight. After that, we will start talking about the future, but I don’t think now is the right time.”

When asked whether such a focus might delay preparations for next season, Gasperini replied: “In these weeks, there have been some advances. The club suffered a great disappointment that it did not expect, following a path it had not planned. But I don’t think other teams have done much more so far.”

Gasperini avoided answering a question about his potential continued collaboration with Massara next season, saying: “Now I’m focusing on the match against Fiorentina. I’ve already said that the rest will be addressed at the right time and in the right way. And it will be the club that speaks out. There’s no point getting into details now.”
