The Chicago White Sox’s young sluggers are putting up jaw-dropping offensive numbers this season.
In a team undergoing a rebuild during the 2026 campaign, three players—Munetaka Murakami, Colson Montgomery, and Miguel Vargas—are delivering the kind of power reminiscent of the franchise’s golden era. They are restoring star power to the South Side.
On May 10, U.S. media outlet *Roundtable Sports* praised the trio anchoring the White Sox lineup, stating they bring “the star quality and overwhelming power that the team has lacked in recent years.”
The numbers tell the story of their dominance. According to the report, Murakami, Montgomery, and Vargas have combined for 25 home runs and 54 RBIs over the last 22 games. The outlet described it as “a remarkable power display from the heart of the order.”
So far this season, the three have a total of 34 home runs. That tally surpasses the entire team home run counts of several clubs as of that date, including the Miami Marlins, New York Mets, and Boston Red Sox.
Looking at individual stats through 40 games, Murakami is on pace for 62 home runs, Montgomery for 41, and Vargas for 37. *Roundtable Sports* analyzed that “it’s very possible the White Sox will have three players with 30-plus homers, or even multiple players reaching the 40-homer mark this season.” They added that “it’s hard to recall a White Sox lineup in recent years with this much destructive power,” emphasizing that these three have become symbols of the team’s rebuilding process.
Despite suffering over 100 losses for three consecutive seasons, the rise of these three middle-of-the-order hitters could significantly alter the trajectory of the struggling franchise’s reconstruction.
